I am a native Hoosier who calls Fort Wayne, Indiana home.   I attended Ball State University for my undergraduate studies with majors of Music Education and Chemistry. During my time at Ball State, I was fortunate to gain meaningful experience in both research and teaching. After graduating in 2001, I worked for the next two years at Albany Molecular Research, Inc. in Albany, New York as a Research Chemist I in the Medicinal Chemistry department. My current research interests include rational drug design and synthesis of novel dual inhibitors of cyclooxygenase-2 and thromboxane synthase. Outside of the lab, my interests include the pedagogy of science in the elementary and secondary school classroom and musical teaching and performing opportunities.
