The office of Biomedical Research Education and Training (BRET) provides support for both training grant renewals as well as new submissions. The nature of the support is primarily access to comprehensive databases that contain faculty biosketches and training history, recruiting information, minority outreach and descriptions of coursework currently offered at Vanderbilt. We also maintain a “library” of previous training grant applications and a list of training preceptors on the various proposals. Faculty members can create customized NIH and NSF formatted biosketches and maintain their current and previous trainee table on the Medical School Faculty Database .

Training grants currently supported by this office:

Cancer Biology Training Grant
Cellular, Biochemical and Molecular Sciences Training Program (CBMS)
Human Genetics Training Grant
Medical Scientist Training Program (MSTP)
Molecular Endocrinology Training Program (METP)
Pharmacology Sciences Training Program
Reproductive Biology Training Program
Toxicology
Vascular Biology
Viruses and Nucleic Acids

Finally, we have significant experience in the overall application process and we recommend spending some time with us prior to putting a submission together.
