What is a BRET faculty member?

BRET faculty members are those faculty who are involved in research (broadly defined) who choose to be affiliated with the Office of Biomedical Research Education and Training.

What are the advantages of being a BRET faculty member?

Faculty who choose to be affiliated with the BRET office will have their faculty profile included on the BRET site, which is often visited by prospective (and current!) graduate students, professional students, and post-doctoral fellows looking for research opportunities at VUMC.

The "BRET Faculty" list is not the list of laboratories open to IGP or MD/PhD students. Access to this list is determined by the departmental chairs. If you would like to be listed as having access to such students please contact the chair of the PhD program with which you are affiliated.

How do I become a BRET faculty member?

Using your VUNet ID and password, log in to the faculty database at https://www.mc.vanderbilt.edu/facultydata/php_files/login_faculty.php and go to the faculty menu. Near the bottom of the menu is the question: Would you like to be included in the list of faculty members in the BRET?" Simply click yes to include your profile on our faculty listing!

If you ever need to remove your name from the BRET faculty list, return to the faculty database menu, and click "Yes" next to the question "Would you like to take your name out from the list of faculty members in the BRET?"
